The coronavirus has reached Antarctica, the last continent that was previously free from COVID-19, stated Chiles military.

At least 36 people had been infected with COVID-19 at Chile armed forces’ Bernardo OHiggins base, which includes 26 army personnel and 10 civilian contractors carrying out maintenance at the base. Base personnel are properly isolated and being constantly monitored by health authorities in Magallanes, in Chilean Patagonia, stated the army. There had been no complications thus far.
