The Union Health Ministry data on Monday suggested that India recorded 11,427 new COVID cases over the previous 24 hours, with the caseload now standing at 1,07,57,610.

There were 11,858 discharges, and 118 fatalities, stated the health ministry data. The death toll from COVID-19 now stands at 1,54,392. Overall, 1,04,34,983 individuals have recovered and there are 1,68,235 active cases of the infection in the country at present.

The ministry further stated that the number of healthcare workers who have received the COVID-19 vaccine doses under the nationwide vaccination drive surpassed 37 lakh on Saturday.
