An article published online December 20, 2017 in Clinical Infectious Diseases has identified proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), H2 antagonists, sucralfate, and antibiotics such as third and fourth generation cephalosporins, carbapenems, and piperacillin/tazobactam as risk factors for Clostridium difficile infection in hospitalized patients.
