Global vaccination rates rising, but several countries yet to start

Over 345 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered across the world over a period of three months since mass vaccination programs started in December. However, there continues to be a huge disparity in the vaccination rates between countries. 

Israel stands out in the race for vaccination as 58% of its population has received at least one dose of either the Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech vaccines while 46% of the population has received both required doses. Chile is also making progress, with at least a quarter of its population having been administered at least one dose. Of note, while North America has administered 18 doses for every 100 people, South America has given only 4.9 per 100 individuals.
