More than half of Israel's population receives both COVID-19 vaccine doses

Israel has administered two doses of COVID-19 vaccine to over half its population, stated the country’s health minister on Thursday.

Health Minister Yuli Edelstein announced the milestone and urged the people to follow all health guidelines. The minister stated that 50.07% of the population in Israel had been administered both the vaccine doses, while 55.96% have received their first dose. Israel issues “Green Pass” certificates to those who have been fully vaccinated, and nearly 8.7% of its population who have recovered from COVID-19 and have presumed immunity. The certificate enables them to access various leisure venues.
