Does telemonitoring play a role in improving adherence to intake of non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants in patients with atrial fibrillation?

According to a randomized, single-blind, crossover, controlled trial published in the European Heart Journal that assessed the effect of telemonitoring on adherence to non-vitamin K antagonist oral anticoagulants (NOACs) in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF), telemonitoring resulted in high NOAC adherence due to the notion of being watched. In addition, feedback helped in further optimizing adherence to 99% and 96.8% in terms of high intake and regimen adherence.
