The Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE) is set to convene at the World Health Organization (WHO) on October 5 to discuss the emergency use authorization (EUA) for India’s indigenous COVID-19 vaccine - Covaxin.

A decision on the emergency use listing of the vaccine will likely be taken after the meeting. Earlier, the WHO had asked for clarification on the data submitted by Bharat Biotech. The meeting scheduled for October 5 has been called after the vaccine manufacturer submitted all the data. The advisory group will be provided clinical data of Covaxin’s phase one, two and three trials and the group will also evaluate the vaccine’s post-marketing studies on safety, immunogenicity, efficacy and effectiveness.
