On Sunday an official said that around 50 staffers of the civil hospital in Gujarat′s Rajkot city, including doctors and nurses, had tested coronavirus positive. Superintendent of Civil Hospital R S Trivedi said that none of them were serious and were undergoing treatment in home isolation.

The state health department said that on Sunday Gujarat reported 16,617 new COVID-19 cases, the lowest in the last five days, with 19 fatalities, the highest during the ongoing third wave so far in Gujarat.

Gujarat reported a total of 10,62,555 in which 1,34,837 were active. 258 patients are on ventilator support and a total of 11,636 patients were discharge, increasing the number of recoveries in the state to 9,17,469. Ahmedabad district reported the highest number of 6,277 cases, followed by Vadodara with 3,655 cases, Surat with 2,151, and Rajkot with 621 cases.

Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu the total tally of confirmed cases in UT rose to 11,220 and recoveries to 10,986, leaving it with 230 active cases.
