As the monsoon season has set in, teams from the district health department, Noida, are currently observing health camps to find persons infected with dengue and malaria. Mostly, these cases increase during monsoons showing symptoms such as high fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, and swollen glands.

A medical and laboratory camp was set up in the village of Bagpur on Wednesday. 42 patients were examined by doctors from the Dankaur Community Health Center, and 14 of them had fevers. Their samples have been sent for additional investigation to rule out dengue and malaria infections. Teams will keep going until October.

Dr Rajesh Sharma, the malaria officer for Gautam Budh Nagar, said that the teams sprayed the region with an anti-larvae medication on Wednesday. Locals were also instructed on how to remove water that had been stored close to their residences and businesses. Further, such camps would be set up in several regions over the next few days.

Dr Pankaj Chaudhary of the Max Super Speciality Hospital in Vaishali stated that even though currently statistics are not particularly concerning, adequate care becomes essential as the platelets begin to deplete after experiencing the initial symptoms. Several physicians in the nearby Ghaziabad region have reported many dengue patients visiting hospitals.  (Times of India, Aug 12, 2022)
