Worldwide, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass is the most commonly done procedure followed by others like sleeve gastrectomy, gastric banding, bilio-pancreatic diversion, etc. Remission of diabetes is seen in 50-75% cases. We have used another technique called ileal interposition with sleeve gastrectomy or its modified diverted version with remission in diabetes rates ranging from 65-80%.
