On Saturday, Mr. Krishna Ella, Chairman and Director of Bharat Biotech, stated that the company will launch its intranasal COVID-19 vaccine, iNCOVACC, the first of its kind in India, on January 26. As part of the IISFs "Face-to-Face with New Frontiers in Science" event, which was held at the Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology, Mr. Ella stated that the nasal vaccination would be formally introduced on January 26, on Republic Day.

According to an announcement made by the drug maker in December, intranasal shots will cost Rs 325 for government purchases and Rs 800 for commercial immunisation facilities.

Earlier this month, during his interactions with kids at the India International Science Festival in Bhopal, Mr. Ella also revealed that the expected release date of the domestically produced Lumpi-ProVac Ind vaccine for the lumpy skin disease in cattle is next month.
