Haryana: On Thursday, Dr. Anil Vij, Minister of Health and AYUSH, declared that state employees will be reimbursed for Ayurvedic treatments in addition to allopathic ones. He added that the government places a strong emphasis on promoting Ayurvedic medicine as a kind of treatment. He stated that the Haryana government also plans to add Ayurvedic subjects to the state′s MBBS curriculum.

He suggested that, in order to offer patients an alternative form of treatment, the use of ayurvedic medications should be expanded relative to that of allopathic ones. Furthermore, just as a doctor must examine a patient before prescribing an allopathic drug, an ayurvedic drug must be preceded by a scientific diagnosis.

According to him, the state administration consistently works to spread the use of Ayurveda and yoga. The state government has pledged to build yoga shalas in 6,500 villages. The minister also mentioned the establishment of the Ayurvedic University in Kurukshetra, which is dedicated to advancing alternative medicine. He further explained that the AYUSH stream encompasses Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathic systems of medicine and treatment.
