On February 9, the Bombay High Court will hear a case regarding "medical negligence" at the COVID-19 jumbo center, which is run by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The petitioner, a 54-year-old Andheri resident named Mr. Deepak Shah, is requesting Rs 36 lakh in damages for the ordeal he went through.

Mr. Shah has filed a writ case through his son, who is his authorized representative, requesting compensation of Rs. 36 lakhs for "incompetent and improper medical treatment" by the doctors at the BMC. In his complaint, he claimed that he had a hernia procedure a few days before testing positive for COVID-19 in April 2021, after which he was quarantined and admitted to the Jumbo COVID Center at BKC.

He stated that the medical staff at the facility did not adequately care for him, and as a result, he contracted an infection and required two additional procedures. In his argument, he stated that his family had informed the medical staff at the center about his hernia operation and the treatment he needed afterward. However, doctors and other medical staff at the center did not pay heed to it and administered four to five injections to Shah`s stomach every day.
