On Wednesday, Mr. Mangubhai Patel, Governor of Madhya Pradesh, stated that extensive publicity is needed to create awareness about sickle cell anemia among the Scheduled Tribes and other groups. The governor gave out incentives from several initiatives to qualified recipients at a public discussion event in the tribal-dominated village of Ragai in the Burhanpur district.

The governor advised that people should be aware of sickle cell disease and encouraged young people from other social groups to play a significant role in helping the tribal class overcome this illness. He advised that young people get their blood tested in order to detect sickle cell anemia before getting married. If symptoms are identified after testing kids at hostels, the family should be notified.

Additionally, the Governor interacted with the beneficiaries of other schemes, including women in self-help groups, at a public dialogue program in the village of Ragai.
