The Head Orthopedic Surgeon of National Hospital is accused of medical negligence by a 60-year-old woman in Khozikode for operating on the wrong leg.

Sanjana, the patient, claimed to have been under Dr. Bahirshaan′s supervision for the last six months, and on Wednesday, the doctor performed the surgery on the right leg rather than the left.

Sanjana has filed a complaint against the medical error to the Kozhikode district medical officer and state health minister. 

Sanjana′s family claims that the doctor has admitted his mistake, but hospital officials claim she needed surgery because she had Achilles tendonitis in both legs.
