Rs 20,000 crore sanctioned to boost the quality of medical care

For the health sector, the Yogi government in UP has authorized more than Rs 20,000 crore to raise the standard of medical services. Also, the government has allocated Rs 20 crore for the first time to start the UP Institute of Pharmaceutical Research and Development.

 

The medical and health sector received Rs 17,325 crore, while the medical education department received Rs 2837.39 crore. Two-thirds of the medical health budget will support the National Health Mission′s programs, focusing on improving the standard of treatment in rural areas and upgrading the facilities at community and primary health centres.

 

Establishing and maintaining 14 new medical colleges has received the most considerable portion of the medical education budget. 

 

The Pradhan Mantri Aatmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana has also received a budgetary allocation of Rs 1,655 crore, while the Ayushman Bharat Program received funding of Rs 400 crore. The Chief Minister′s Jan Arogya Abhiyan under Ayushman Bharat would receive an additional Rs 250 crore.
