Postpartum care should be an ongoing process, says ACOG

A revised Committee Opinion from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) on April 23, 2018 re-emphasizes the importance of the “fourth trimester”. ACOG has also recommended that postpartum care should be an ongoing process, rather than a single encounter and that all women have contact with their ob-gyns or other obstetric care providers within the first three weeks postpartum.
