Drug holidays should be avoided in women with osteoporosis

Drug holidays from denosumab should be avoided as they potentially increase the risk of atypical fractures such as of femur, even for women taking bisphosphonates who are at low risk for fracture. These views were presented October 11, 2017 at the North American Menopause Society 2017 Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, USA.
