The Pediatric Asthma Yardstick is a new guideline from the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI) with recommendations on when and how to step-up therapy in children with poorly controlled asthma. The guideline published in the June 2018 issue of the Annals of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology recognizes that differences in the diagnosis and management of asthma also exist between the three age groups addressed in the yardstick: adolescents (12-18 years), school-age children (6-11 years) and infants and young children (5 years and younger)
