Flu vaccine reduces risk of flu hospitalization among pregnant women

According to a study published October 11, 2018 in Clinical Infectious Diseases, more than 80% of pregnancies overlapped with flu season, underscoring the likelihood that pregnant women will be exposed to flu at some point during their pregnancy. Flu vaccine was equally protective for pregnant women with underlying medical problems such as asthma and diabetes; it was also equally protective for women during all three trimesters.
