  • Allergens in cement and brick layers - chromates.
  • Trivalent chrome is stable and safe; hence, it doesn’t cause systemic symptoms when it is present in food, as mostly, in food, it is in trivalent form.
  • According to Lachapelle - stage1: localized CD, stage 2: generalized, stage 3: hematogenous, stage 4: systemic.
  • Baboon syndrome: Cause - metals, medicaments, plants and herbs; Previously cutaneous sensitization is seen; Patch test is mostly positive; Nature of disease - systemic allergic contact dermatitis.
  • Sdrife syndrome: Etiology - Antibacterials, predominantly amino penicillins, beta lactams. Previously cutaneous sensitization not found. Patch test - negative in half of the cases. Nature of disease - adverse cutaneous drug reaction with distinct presentations.
