Air India flight evacuates 263 Indian from Rome to Delhi

On Sunday morning, an Air India special flight evacuated 263 Indians from the coronavirus worse-hit Italys capital city of Rome. They landed at the Delhi airport.

The flight landed at the Delhi airport at around 9:15 am. The evacuees were mostly students and were immediately taken to an Indo-Tibetan Border Police quarantine facility that is in Chhawla after going through the thermal screening and immigration at the airport.

The Delhi customs had provided support in the clearance of the 263 Indian passengers at the Remote Bay of the Delhi airport. Precautions were taken and standard operating procedures (SOPs) were also implemented for managing passengers.

This was the 2nd batch of Indians being evacuated from Italy that has reported more than 47,000 cases of the novel COVID-19. Earlier, almost 218 Indians, which are mostly students were evacuated from the Milan, Italy.
