Premix insulins provide the convenience of having 2 variable acting insulins in the same dose. It enables the healthcare provider to address to fasting and postprandial sugar levels in the same shot. It provides a reasonably decent glycemic control, cuts down the number of insulin shots at the same time, providing a similar level of glycemic control.
