  3. Fibrates can lead to reversible hypercreatininemia and this phenomenon is especially important in type 2 diabetes.
  4. Improvements in liver function tests may be evident following fibrate therapy, perhaps with improvement in NAFLD. It is important to monitor for the rare paradoxical HDL-C reduction.
