Obese children with asthma more likely to be re-hospitalized

Obese children with asthma were more likely to be re hospitalized at 30 days and also have longer duration of hospital stay compared to normal weight children. These findings from a study were first published online October 18 2017 in the journal Pediatric Allergy and Immunology. No significant differences in the need for intensive care and total costs for hospitalization were observed between underweight normal weight overweight and obese groups.
