The occurrence of acute myocardial infarction (MI) during hospitalization for other medical conditions is not uncommon and is linked to a significantly increased risk for poor outcomes, with 1-year mortality rates as high as 60%, according to a new research published online Jan. 18, 2019 in JAMA Network Open.
