HYDERABAD: The Punjaguta police booked a case against the Virinchi Hospitals for causing death due to negligence. The case was registered following the death of an employee of Singareni Collieries Co Ltd, admitted to the hospital.

Sangeetha Rao was admitted to the hospital for an operation after developing gangrene on the little toe of her left foot. Rao was admitted to the hospital on March 14 and was operated upon on March 23.

The doctors declared a stable condition; however, the patient died within 24 hours of the operation. Rao’s family has alleged that the doctors did not inform about the exact cause of the death. The Virinchi Hospitals released a note that said that despite best efforts, Rao could not be saved. (The New Indian Express)
