The US Preventive Services Task Force USPSTF has published draft recommendation statement and draft evidence review on screening for osteoporosis to prevent fractures on this website which says that screening for osteoporosis can prevent fractures in women age 65 years and older and in those younger than age 65 years who are at increased risk.
