Meta-analysis says enucleation better than resection for benign prostatic hyperplasia
Compared with resection, enucleation showed better efficacy and safety postoperatively with less hematological changes and severe complications, except for longer operative time, according to a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials examining the efficacy and safety of enucleation vs resection of prostate for treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia. These findings are published online February 28, 2019 in Prostate Cancer and Prostatic Diseases.
