Risk of heart attack increased 13 times with significant financial stress

According to a new study presented November 9 2017 at the 18th Annual Congress of the South African Heart Association in Johannesburg South Africa significant financial stress is associated with a 13 fold higher odds of having a heart attack. While the risk of heart attack was 5.6 times higher in patients with moderate or severe work stress compared to those with minimal or no stress.
