New Delhi: An Ayushman Bharat Fraud Recruitment Scam from Gurugram has been busted and Delhi Police has arrested all individuals, including several SBI account bearers, involved in the scam.

The National Health Authority (NHA) has been monitoring any type of fraud in Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY and informed Delhi police as soon as information of fake letters being circulated promising jobs in Ayushman Bharat was received.

The fraudulent activity began with publishing of advertisements, providing a contact number. The interested individuals were asked to send their Bio-Data and other details to this number through Whatsapp/SMS. A fake appointment letter was then sent to these individuals on the professional letterhead that closely resembled NHA/PM-JAY letter head with the respective logos/official stamps. The letter stated that they have been shortlisted and training for the job role would begin soon. When the individuals received the letter and contacted the same mobile number for further steps and start date of training, they were advised to deposit a sum of INR 12,500/- towards training costs into an SBI bank account in Gurugram.

NHA received some calls through its toll-free numbers (14555/1800-111-565) enquiring about such training. NHA also received a couple of fake appointment letters from the on-ground teams. On receiving the information, NHA investigated the matter to ascertain the origin of this scam and filed a complaint with the Delhi Police. (ETHealthWorld)
