In consultation with the Board of Governors in the Medical Council of India (MCI), the Health Ministry has taken a decision to lower the qualifying marks for NEET-PG for 2019-20 by six percentile to be eligible for admissions to postgraduate medical courses for the academic year 2019-20.

According to an official statement, the NEET-PG qualifying marks from 2019-20 will be:

  • General category candidates: minimum mark of 44 percentile
  • Persons with disabilities category: minimum of 39 percentile
  • Candidates of SC/ST and OBC category: minimum of 34 percentile

As per the statement, all states/UTs have been asked to make necessary arrangements for allowing students according to the revised qualifying marks in further rounds of counseling this year. (PTI)
