IBD patients at risk of complications after colonoscopy

Patients with inflammatory bowel disease IBD have significantly higher unplanned visit rates after colonoscopy than those who do not have IBD says a study presented November 10 2017 at the Advances in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases meeting in Orlando. Patients of Crohn s disease were 7 times more likely to have Clostridium difficile infection while the risk of C. difficile infection was 13 times higher in patients with ulcerative colitis.
