On July 23, a class 4-grade woman employee went to Asraf Badar for stomach pain treatment at the Ghatshila government hospital of West Singhbhum district in Ranchi. Asraf who works on a contract basis in the hospital allegedly prescribed condoms to the woman. The woman went to a near chemist shop with the prescription where she was informed by the shopkeeper that the prescribed medicine was a condom.

The issue was elevated by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha legislator Kunal Sarangi in the assembly after the woman complained about this matter to the senior doctors. On Sunday, an inquiry was started based on the complaint and a medical team with one psychiatrist was constituted to investigate the entire issue.

Shankar Tudu, in-charge of the Ghatshila sub-divisional hospital, told the reporters that based on the complaint of the woman, a medical team has been constituted which is investigating the matter. The doctor in question has denied the allegation against him.
