IMA demands more allocation for healthcare

Indian Medical Association (IMA), which has a membership base of over one lakh doctors in Maharashtra, has prepared a chart of demands for political parties, ahead of the upcoming assembly polls. On the top of their list is a demand to increase state expenditure on healthcare, for improving medical education in public sector, strengthening of primary and rural services, and elimination of crosspathy.

IMA members said the health statement will be given to all candidates in the state. IMA secretary Dr Suhas Pingle, said that health is one of the most important factors to keep a nations GDP increasing. A healthy nation can be productive as Europe and US. Unfortunately, concerns surrounding healthcare does not feature in statement.
