On Sunday, doctors confirmed that a 75-year-old woman has delivered a baby girlon Saturday night, in Kota, Jaipur via IVF.

The child is underweight weighing 600 gm and has been shifted to the newborn intensive care unit (NICU) of another hospital while the woman is in Kinkar Hospital in Kota. A team of pediatricians is monitoring the new born child.

The woman had earlier adopted a kid but wanted to have her own child and hence had consulted the doctors about the likelihood of her becoming a mother. Abhilasha Kinkar, a doctor at a private hospital said that she wanted to try IVF for having a baby.

The baby had to be delivered prematurely via C-section after 6.5 months of pregnancy because of the age of the mother, who was medically and physically weak. Also, the woman had only one lung, which was a challenge for the medical team.

The woman, belongs to a farmers family with a rural background and insisted to have her own baby which left the medicos were surprised.
