The theme for the Mela this year is “Fit Delhi-Fit India”

The three-day 26th Perfect Health Mela, the annual flagship event of the Heart Care Foundation of India (HCFI), opens today at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Weightlifting Auditorium, New Delhi.

The theme for the Mela this year is “Fit Delhi-Fit India”.

Delhi Chief Minister Shri Arvind Kejriwal has been invited to inaugurate the Mela at 11.30 am.

Shri Satyendra Jain, Health Minister, Delhi Government will preside over the function.

Shri Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports has been invited as the Chief Guest.

The Guests of Honor at the function are Ms Meenakshi Lekhi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament; Shri Radhey Shyam Julaniya IAS, Secretary of Sports; Shri Vijay Kumar Dev, Chief Secretary Delhi; Shri Sandip Pradhan IRS Dy Director General SAI; Shri Satish Upadhyaya Former Chairman Education SDMC; Shri SY Quaraishi, former election Commissioner of India; Shri Ashok Chakradhar, Padma Shri Awardee; Shri Sujeet Singh, Director NCDC; Shri Sunil Gupta, MS Safdarjung Hospital; Dr Arun Gupta, President Delhi Medical Council; Shri Bejon Misra, International Consumer Policy expert; Ms Meenakshi Datta Ghosh IAS, Co-Chair HCFI Round Table on Health & Wellness Building Consensus; Ms Sheetal Anand, Trustee Ansal University and Shri Sandeep Marwah, Renowned International media personality.

Special guests are Shri Rajendra Gupta, Former Transport minister; Shri CK Khanna, Acting President BCCI and Dr Girish Tyagi, President, Delhi Medical Association.

The Mela is being organized by HCFI jointly with Dept. of Health Delhi Government, DST and other government departments, Fena, Imperfecto, Ansal University, Coca Cola, LIC and other organizations.

The Perfect Health Mela is a platform for health awareness for people from all walks of life, for all segments of society and incorporates all pathies under one roof. It’s a mix of entertainment, health exhibitions, health check-ups and competitions. There are more than 40 competitions for schools and colleges.

Besides the regular events like Anmol, Divya Jyoti, EcoFest, Heritage, MedicoMasti, a special attraction at the Mela this year is the 22 km Cyclathon on 19^th October. The cycle rally will start from India Gate and end at the Mela venue. It is not a race or competition. The aim of the Cyclathon is to promote cycling as a means to healthier life and cleaner environment.

Other attractions include a special show on the science behind miracles, Bollywood evening with Shibani Kashyap, laughter show, Dandia show, and an open dance competition.

Another special activity is testing 1000 people for HbA1c during the Mela, free of cost, in memory of Shri Arun Jaitley. 300 people will be tested today.

A special survey will be conducted on Happiness Index.

There will be a live demo of Mohalla clinic by the Government of Delhi.
