Aurangabad: The crime branch of the police have arrested a key suspect, Shahid Razzak Gadbade from Nanded, involved in the illegal sale and supply of pharmaceutical drugs in several parts of the state.

The arrest came after the registration of an offence against one Sagar Baburao Shinde on March 19 for unauthorized sale and supply of pharmaceutical drugs worth Rs 4.75 lakh. Shinde told police, at the time of interrogation, that these drugs were manufactured by a Delhi-based pharma company PSI.

It was later discovered that the drugs were supplied by Gadbade from Nanded. He applied for anticipatory bail and was granted interim bail in August 2019. He was successful in confirming the anticipatory bail in the Aurangabad bench of the Bombay High Court on certain conditions. He was reluctant to cooperate with police in the investigation and the crime branch brought this to the notice of HC.The judge therefore cancelled his bail on Friday.

Shahid left the court hall, switched off his phone and disappeared from the court. A police team arrested him from the railway station.(TNN)
