On Tuesday, the motorist who was killed in an accident near the World Trade Centre Roundabout, Dubai has been identified as a renowned Indian doctor.
Dr John Marshall Skinner, 60-year-old specialist internist and one of the partners at the Prima Care Clinics, Avivo group - a multi-speciality medical centre formerly known as Al Musalla Medical Centre - was killed after his Nissan Patrol car overturned and caught fire, as informed by his close colleagues.
According to Dubai Police reports, Dr Skinner was on his way to the clinic from his house in Jumeirah Village Circle when the tragic accident took place at around 12.45pm.
Dr Skinner, originally was from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, and was practicing in the UAE for over 20 years. Dr Sasikumar Kallivalappil, a specialist neurologist at Prima Care, said that Dr Skinner was one of the best doctors in the UAE and has been working with Prima Care for 16 years. He was an extremely dedicated doctor who wasspecialized in diabetes.
Former marketing manager of Prima Care Clinics Shaukkath Marangattu, said that his death has left the medical community and his patients in a state of deep shock. They have still not recovered from it. He was extremely well-loved among all his patients as they have been visiting him for several years.
Dr Skinner is survived by his wife, Dr Sisy Marshall, and two kids who are studying medicine in Bahrain. He comes from a family of healthcare professionals. His parents, sisters and brother are all very well-known doctors in their respective fields.
Shaukkath further said that when Dr Skinner did not return home from work Tuesday night, his wife informed the clinic and officials from the clinic went to Al Rafaa Police Station in search of him on Wednesday morning. On Wednesday, police officials informed the family that an accident had taken place and the body was moved to Qusais mortuary at 10am. Dr Skinners wife and colleagues later identified his body at the morgue. The family and close colleagues are at present completing formalities ahead of his funeral, which is expected to be held at the Jebel Ali Cemetery.
