Illegal clinic in Sion running for 3 years, four fake doctors arrested

The Mumbai crime branch has conducted a crackdown on quacks and arrested four frauds from Sion area who were practicing allopathy. The accused persons are class XII pass outs and were operating in these slums since for the past three years.

The crime branch has already arrested 15 fake doctors in the past three months and will continue the crackdown. The arrested accused were identified as Rakesh Tiwari (45), Dalsingh Yadav (59), Motilal Maurya (51) and Anilkumar Bind (41).

The teams of police officials invaded their premises and seized several allopathic medicines, injections, syringes and other material. An official said that none of the accused holds a medical degree and the mandatory Maharashtra Medical council registration, also.

A crime branch officer said that the accused had been treating innocent slum dwellers since the last three years. They are looking for more people he treated.

The crime branch has been nabbing the bogus doctors and the latest arrest is from the jurisdiction of Wadala TT police station. A case has been filed against the accused under sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Maharashtra Medical Practitioners Act and they have been kept in police custody.

Before this, the officials had arrested five quacks from south and central Mumbai in raids carried out by special teams.
