Till 3rd Feb, almost 11,093 people screened at Mumbai airport for coronavirus

Almost 11,093 people have been screened at the Mumbai International Airport till 3rd February as the coronavirus emergency continues to spread throughout the world.

107 of those who were screened were from Maharashtra, including 21 who showed symptoms similar to Coronavirus. Up to now, 20 out of 21 patients have been tested negative for coronavirus in Mumbais Kasturba hospital and Punes Naidu hospital - the two hospitals for suspected patients in the Maharashtra state.

Owing to the coronavirus outbreak, suspected patients in various states have been kept under observation, which includes Kerala where approximately 2,421 people are being monitored. In the meantime, other states are also taking precautionary measures to meet any emergency due to the rapid spread of the virus.

The virus was originated in Wuhan in Chinas Hubei province in December and has been spreading since then to various parts of the world. The third confirmed coronavirus case in India is of a student who came back from Wuhan and all three confirmed coronavirus cases are from Kerala.

China has imposed quarantine and travel restrictions that can affect the movement of 56 million people in more than a dozen cities, within fears that the transmission rate will increase.
