Aggressive tumor resection was found to be associated with improved overall survival (OS) for glioblastoma patients and was independent of IDH status, reported a retrospective study.

Resection of contrast-enhanced tumor tissue benefited all glioblastoma patients irrespective of IDH and O6-methylguanine-DNA methyltransferase (MGMT) status. Removal of non-contrast-enhanced tumor tissue benefited all patients with IDH-mutant tumors, as well as younger patients with IDH wild-type disease, reported researchers in JAMA Oncology.
