14 Italians infected with coronavirus shifted to Medanta Hospital, Gurgaon

The fourteen Italians tested positive for coronavirus are shifted to the Medanta Hospital in Gurgaon from an ITBP quarantine centre.

On Thursday morning, the hospital issued a statementsaying that these patients are accommodated on a separate floor and has been quarantined with no contact with the remaining hospital. A dedicated medical team wearing protective gear are observing these patients. All items used on that floor are also isolated to that floor.

The isolated floor will completely enclose the disease even with the asymptomatic persons. Other hospital operations will operate as normal and there is no increased risk to patients, visitors or any staff.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Centre has 112 people, 76 Indians and 36 foreigners, from27thFebruary after been evacuated by an Indian Air Force (IAF) plane from Chinas Wuhan, which was the epicentre of the deadly coronavirus.

The first samples of all 112 people had been tested negative last week.
