India reaches to 724 confirmed cases with 17 deaths, US COVID-19 cases overtakes China and Italy

India has crossed COVID-19 positive cases by 720 mark as the death toll reached 17 on Friday. But, the Central government has guaranteed people that positive cases total is “relatively stable” in the country. The Modi government has also said that there was no “solid evidence” to mention whether stage-3 of coronavirus has started.

The central government has declared around Rs 1.70 lakh crore financial package to help the needs of poor people. The central government stated that almost 17 states have started to transform hospitals into dedicated COVID-19 treatment facilities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appealed to people in the country to keep social distancing to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, as India is under 21-day “complete lockdown”.

According to the latest data, 66 patients have been cured or discharged or migrated. The number of deaths in India has reached at 17.

Experts have urged people to stay at home and to not roam out on roads unless it is totally necessary and not to panic and believe in rumors.

  • The Union health ministry has restricted the distribution and sale of hydroxychloroquine affirming it as a necessary drug to meet the necessities of any emergency situation arising due to coronavirus pandemic.
  • A 23-year-old man who had committed suicide 10 days back at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi has been tested negative for COVID-19. The man was taken to the hospital for testing after he had arrived at the IGI Airport this month and had complained of a headache. Over there, he allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the 7th floor of the building.
  • The Delhi government has provided masks and hand sanitizers to the public transport buses staff who are serving as the lifeline of the city, especially in this lockdown period by transporting people associated with necessary services. The drivers, conductors and marshals in all the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses are provided with masks and hand sanitizers.
  • The overall confirmed cases on the mainland China had reached 81,340 on Thursday, which includes 3,292 people who had died of the disease and 3,460 patients who are on treatment.
  • A ward boy of private hospital in Patna, tested positive for coronavirus. The total number of confirmed cases in Bihar is 7.
  • 5 more people test positive for COVID-19 in Maharashtras Vidarbha region; 4 are in Nagpur city and 1 is in Gondia district.
  • A 60-year-old man, tested positive for COVID-19 in Rajasthans Bhilwara, died due to comorbid conditions on Friday. A total of 43 confirmed cases are found in the state. 2 new COVID-19 positive cases are reported in Bhilwara. Both of them are close relatives of the same person who was COVID-19 positive and died.
  • Case has been registered against 2 Non-Residential Indians for avoiding home quarantine in Mylavaram of Krishna District. According to the police officials both of them had returned from US on 14th March and were placed in home quarantine and were found missing from their homes.
  • The number of confirmed coronavirus cases across the world has increase rapidly to 531,860 and a total of 24,057 people have died till now. At 85,653, the US now has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the world, surpassing China and Italy. Almost 1300 people have died in the US due to the COVID-19. There are 78 confirmed COVID-19 cases among UN staff globally.

According to the Health Ministry, death count due to coronavirus cases reached 19 in India and confirmed cases rise to 724.
