Delhi government reveals their 5-point plan to fight COVID-19

On Tuesady, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal revealed a 5-point programme to fight COVID-19 as the battle against the pandemic as it enters into a critical phase. More than 500 coronavirus positive cases have been confirmed in Delhi and thousands are placed under self-quarantine as Nizamuddin Markaz (headquarters of Tablighi Jamaat) emerged as a hot spot of the virus.

The 5-point plan includes of testing, tracing, treatment, team work with tracking and monitoring.

Extensive rapid testing are been carried out in Delhis coronavirus hotspots like Nizamuddin and Dilsad Garden. These places have reported a large number of confirmed coronavirus cases till now. Delhi government has ordered almost one lakh testing kits for extensive testing in the city.

The government is now focused on tracing coronavirus positive contacts in the city. Approximately 27,703 quarantined peoples contacts are shared with Delhi Police for tracing their movement. Many FIRs have been registered against people who have violated the quarantine rules.

Kejriwal said at a press conference that a total of 525 positive cases are reported in Delhi till now. Total 2,950 beds have been reserved for treatment out of them 400 beds are in the private hospitals. GTB hospital will be declared coronavirus hotspot, if the number of confirmed patients crosses 3,000 count.

The Delhi government has its plan ready to handle the pandemic situation even if Delhi sees 30,000 positive cases. 12,000 patients will be accommodated in hotels where the medical facilities will be provided. 10,000 patients will be accommodated in banquet halls and others in different hospitals. The issue of shortage of the PPE kits is solved by the center by providing the kits to the government.

Kejriwal said that team work is important in the hour of this pandemic crisis. CM will discuss with all Delhi MPs to get their suggestions and feedback. He further said that tracking and monitoring of all these preparation and implementation of the measures is under focus and observation.
