India sees 3000 plus coronavirus cases in consecutively 2 days

India reported more than 3,000 new coronavirus cases for the 2nd day as the country has crossed more than 55,000 on Thursday. In only four days, India has crossed this mark after crossing 40,000 on 3rd May.

On Thursday, Maharashtra reported over 1,200 fresh cases. For the 2nd day, the infection reached a new high in Delhi with 448 new cases. The capital’s single-day peak was 428 on Tuesday.

Maharashtra reported its highest single-day death count of 43, out of the 106 fatalities across the country, Mumbai alone added up to 25 deaths. Second time India reported more than 100 coronavirus patients’ death in a day.

On a positive note, the number of recoveries has been increasing gradually across India. According to the latest data, more than 16,600 people have recovered from coronavirus, which is approximately 30% of the total cases.

The coronavirus infection continued to increase in Tamil Nadu and Gujarat reporting 580 and 388 new cases, respectively. Gujarat, the second-most affected state, has crossed 7,000 confirmed cases on Thursday. With 29 deaths in last 24 hours, the death count has reached 415, the 2nd highest after Maharashtra’s 694.

In Telangana, three migrant workers were tested positive among 15 new cases. The state has reported total 1,122 confirmed cases so far.

In Andhra Pradesh, 2 persons died and 56 new patients were tested positive for coronavirus, taking the count to 1,833. Krishna and Kurnool districts in the state also witnessed one coronavirus related death each, taking the death count to 36.

Bihar reported its 5th fatality with the death of a 70-year-old man. The state also reported 8 new cases, taking the total count to 550. Rajasthan also reported 110 new cases, which includes 21 cases from Jaipur. The state’s total count reached 3427 and death count to 99. In Kerala, no new coronavirus cases were reported for the 2nd consecutive day.
