According to World Health Organisation (WHO) data, a total number of 8 vaccine candidates for coronavirus are in the clinical trial whereas another 110 vaccine trials are in different stages of development throughout the world.

South China Morning Post reported that pharmaceutical companies and health organizations in countries like United States, China, and Germany are the foremost in the development of vaccines to battle the virus, as all the governments around the globe are trying to control the infection. Several countries like the US, and China have already announced tentative dates of getting a vaccine ready.

Chinese health official, Zhang Wenhong on Saturday said that a successful vaccine against the coronavirus can only be administered to humans in March 2021.

Zhang was quoted by the Global Times that there are uncertainties in developing vaccines. Coronaviruses, that also include MERS and SARS, have not got any reliable vaccine so far. The vaccines should be available from March to June next year.

US President Donald Trump had expressed earlier that a vaccine for COVID-19 would be available by the end of the year.

Even though the world leaders are expediting the date of vaccine, coronavirus infection continues to affect the world with more than 4.6 million affected and more than 311,425 deaths due to COVID-19.
