Mumbai: The antibody tests used to ascertain if a person has developed immunity to COVID-19 infection may not be helpful as “immunity passports” by individuals since clarity is still lacking on long-term immunity against the disease, as per Raman Gangakhedkar, the head of epidemiology and communicable diseases at the Indian Council of Medical Research.

Gangakhedkar stated that it is not certain if these tests can be used as immunity certificates as evidence is still lacking… (ET Healthworld, June 29, 2020)
