Moscow: The first batch of the Russian COVID-19 vaccine, Sputnik V, developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), has been released into civil circulation.Regional deliveries of the first batches are also planned in the near future, stated the Russian Health Ministry.

A statement from the ministry said that the first batch of the Gam-Covid-Vac [Sputnik V] vaccine for the prevention of the new coronavirus infection has passed the required quality tests in the laboratories of Roszdravnadzor - a medical device regulator - and has been released into civil circulation. The Mayor of Moscow, Sergey Sobyanin,is hopeful that the majority of the Russian capitals residents would get the vaccination within several months… (ET Healthworld – ANI, September 8, 2020)
