Study finds association of relative glycemia with insulin treatment with adverse outcomes post MI

Relative hyperglycemia during insulin treatment, but not absolute, is associated with mortality, heart failure, arrhythmia, cardiogenic shock following an acute myocardial infarction, according to a post-hoc analysis of HI-5 study published December 12, 2017 in the journal Cardiovascular Diabetology.
